This curriculum is modeled after Sonlight's program, with a 36-week instructor's guide. It includes lists of readers and read-alouds, and there is some overlap of SL books (Leif the Lucky and Hakim's History of the US series, for example). It would be great to use as a stand-alone program over the summer!

This set was purchased to supplement our studies of American History, along with many books about African Americans and their contributions. We have African and Haitian children, but I was grateful to be able to expose our caucasian and Asian children to this information as well. Although I love Sonlight, I feel that a more in-depth study of the contributions of members of ALL races is extremely important for American children.
